Recognising and Responding to a Severe Allergic Reaction

SBS International School Bangkok (SBS Bangkok) places the health, safety and well-being of its students at the heart of its school community. As part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, SBS Bangkok organised a First Aid Training Session for Severe Allergic Reactions and Anaphylaxis for approximately 60 members of staff.

The training took place on 7 September 2026 at the Theatre Room, SBS Bangkok, and was designed to strengthen staff knowledge, awareness and practical skills in responding appropriately to students experiencing a severe allergic reaction.

The session was delivered with the kind support of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital and Samitivej Children's Hospital International, who provided experienced medical professionals with expertise in paediatric care and severe allergic reactions to lead the training.

The training focused on helping staff recognise the signs and symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, assess an emergency situation, provide appropriate immediate first aid, and respond promptly and effectively while arranging further medical assistance when required.

Developing staff confidence and preparedness in emergency situations is an important part of SBS Bangkok's wider commitment to student safety. By equipping staff with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond appropriately, the school aims to ensure that students receive timely and appropriate support whenever an emergency occurs.

SBS Bangkok would like to express its sincere appreciation to Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital and Samitivej Children's Hospital International for their valuable support, expertise and contribution to this important training. Their partnership has helped strengthen the knowledge, confidence and preparedness of the SBS Bangkok team in caring for our students and responding to medical emergencies.

SBS Bangkok remains committed to building a safe, caring and health-conscious school community where students can learn, grow and thrive with confidence.
