Early Years Foundation Stage Experience

Imagine a vibrant, child-centred classroom where learning is a natural extension of play. This is what a truly sophisticated Early Years learning experience looks like at SBS International School Bangkok. Each child’s unique interests and learning styles are carefully considered. Teachers tailor activities and resources to meet individual needs, fostering a sense of curiosity and agency.

Learning happens in an ‘immersive environment’ designed to stimulate the senses and spark imagination. Natural materials, diverse textures, and open-ended play areas encourage exploration and creativity. Most learning happens through inquiry where children are encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and discover answers. Teachers guide their investigations, providing support and resources while fostering a love of learning. Concepts are integrated to create a holistic and meaningful educational experience. For example, a unit on ‘water’ might involve exploring Science, Maths, Language Arts, and Social Studies.

Regular outdoor experiences provide opportunities for physical activity, sensory exploration, and connection with nature. Emphasis is placed on building strong social and emotional skills. Children learn to collaborate, communicate effectively, and develop empathy for others.

In such a sophisticated Early Years learning experience, children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. They develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning and a love for discovery.

The school is fully accredited as a Cambridge International Early Years Centre which is the first stage in our Cambridge Pathway, and gives students a clear path for educational success from age 3-19.
