Remembrance Assembly 2025 at SBS Bangkok

SBS International School Bangkok held a deeply moving Remembrance Assembly to honour those who have served and sacrificed for peace. The event featured a two-minute silence, a heartfelt presentation by Mr. Richard Phillips (Head of Maths and former naval seaman), and a symbolic planting of handmade poppies by our students — each one a tribute of remembrance and hope. The assembly reflected our school’s commitment to fostering empathy, historical understanding, and global citizenship among our learners.

On 11 November 2025, the SBS International School Bangkok community gathered for a deeply meaningful Remembrance Assembly to honour the brave individuals who have served and sacrificed in the pursuit of peace. This annual observance provides an important opportunity for our students to reflect, learn, and connect with the values of courage, gratitude, and global citizenship.

At 11:00 a.m., students and staff united in a solemn two-minute silence, recognising the significance of this historic moment and the enduring impact of those who came before us. This collective act of remembrance fostered a profound sense of respect and reflection throughout the school.

We were especially honoured to welcome Mr. Richard Phillips, our Head of Maths and a former naval seaman. Mr. Phillips delivered a powerful and heartfelt presentation, sharing his personal experiences and insights into the meaning of Armistice Day. His reflections brought history vividly to life for our students, helping them understand the human stories behind the day and emphasising the importance of peace in today’s world.

A particularly touching moment of the assembly was the symbolic planting of poppies. Our students crafted handmade poppies with great care and creativity, each representing a personal tribute to those we remember. As the poppies were gently placed, they formed a beautiful and moving visual reminder of remembrance, respect, and hope.

เมื่อวันที่ 11 พฤศจิกายน 2568 ชุมชนของโรงเรียน SBS International School Bangkok ได้ร่วมกันจัดพิธี Remembrance Assembly เพื่อรำลึกถึงเหล่าวีรบุรุษผู้กล้าหาญที่ได้อุทิศตนและเสียสละเพื่อสันติภาพ พิธีสำคัญนี้เป็นช่วงเวลาแห่งการเรียนรู้และสะท้อนความหมายของความกล้าหาญ ความเสียสละ และคุณค่าทางประวัติศาสตร์ให้แก่นักเรียนของเรา

เวลา 11.00 น. นักเรียนและบุคลากรทุกคนร่วมกันสงบนิ่งเป็นเวลา 2 นาที เพื่อระลึกถึงผู้ที่จากไป และเพื่อสร้างความตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของวันรำลึก บรรยากาศในขณะนั้นเต็มไปด้วยความเคารพและความสงบ

เราได้รับเกียรติจาก Mr. Richard Phillips หัวหน้ากลุ่มสาระคณิตศาสตร์ และอดีตทหารเรือ ผู้ถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวและความหมายของ Armistice Day อย่างลึกซึ้งและกินใจ เรื่องราวของท่านช่วยให้นักเรียนเข้าใจเหตุการณ์สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ในมิติที่เป็นมนุษย์ และตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของสันติภาพในโลกปัจจุบัน

อีกหนึ่งช่วงเวลาที่งดงามและน่าประทับใจในพิธี คือกิจกรรม ปลูกดอกป๊อปปี้เชิงสัญลักษณ์ นักเรียนได้ประดิษฐ์ดอกป๊อปปี้ด้วยความตั้งใจและสร้างสรรค์ แต่ละดอกเป็นตัวแทนของการรำลึกและความหวัง เมื่อดอกป๊อปปี้ถูกวางเรียงอย่างอ่อนโยน จึงเกิดเป็นภาพแห่งความงดงามและการรำลึกที่ลึกซึ้ง

ที่ SBS International School Bangkok เราเชื่อว่าพิธีการเช่นนี้มีบทบาทสำคัญในการปลูกฝังความเห็นอกเห็นใจ การเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์ และมุมมองแบบพลเมืองโลกให้แก่นักเรียนของเรา เราภาคภูมิใจอย่างยิ่งในความเคารพและความตั้งใจของนักเรียนทุกคนตลอดพิธีในครั้งนี้
