Phonics in Reception & Year 1: Building Early Literacy Through Parent Partnership

The Phonics Workshop for Reception and Year 1 offered parents clear insight into the Read Write Inc. programme, strengthening home–school partnerships and supporting early literacy through shared understanding, open communication, and practical learning resources.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us on 28 November 2025 for our Phonics Workshop at SBS International School Bangkok.

Led by Mrs Rachel Crossland (EY & Primary Principal) and our Phonics Team, the workshop gave parents a clear and transparent look into the Read Write Inc. Phonics programme and the learning approaches used to build early literacy in Reception and Year 1.

Parents also had the opportunity to explore the Reading Book Bags and the resources students will begin using next week, allowing them to see exactly how learning at school connects with reading and writing at home — a simple but powerful partnership that strengthens each child’s progress.

Workshops like this reflect who we are as SBS Bangkok — A School with Soul:

a community where parents are engaged, communication is open, and learning is shared with clarity and care.

Thank you to all families who joined us.

Your presence reinforces the warm, collaborative culture that defines our school and helps every child grow with confidence.

We look forward to welcoming you to our next parent workshop.
