Student Spotlight: Chiryu Wins First Prize in Junior Botball Challenge
SBS Bangkok celebrates Chiryu, Year 1, for achieving First Prize with his team at the Junior Botball Challenge Asia Bangkok Round.
Robotics, teamwork and technical problem-solving
Chiryu spent two months preparing for this robotics competition, training after school twice a week while also keeping up with his regular Sunday robotics classes.
On 3 May 2026, he joined the Junior Botball Challenge Asia – Bangkok Round at King’s College International School Bangkok.
In the Beginner Level A challenge, Chiryu worked in a team of three to guide their robot by remote control through timed missions on a specialised challenge mat. The team had to solve technical problems as they came up and adjust their strategy during the challenge.
Chiryu and his team achieved First Prize and qualified for the International Global Finals in Beijing, China later this year. Congratulations, Chiryu.
